The Culture Information Platform -Supporting “Culture NIPPON”- https://www.uctec.com/en/2018/12/11/the-culture-information-platform-supporting-culture-nippon/ Tue, 11 Dec 2018 05:46:28 +0000 https://www.uctec.com/en/?p=102 Ubiquitous Computing Technology Corporation

The Culture Information Platform is an online platform that compiles culture programs across Japan, launched in May 2017. This is the program established by Agency of Cultural Affairs Government of Japan to assemble all national cultural information to transmit globally and to energize all forms of Japanese culture toward 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games with the ultimate goal of Japan to be a nation that will thrive on its art and culture. The assembled culture programs are introduced in the portal site “Culture NIPPON (culture-nippon.go.jp)”. Ubiquitous Computing Technology Corporation assists Agency of Cultural Affairs for the deployment and the maintenance of the platform and the portal site.

The platform is approached by Dr. Ken Sakamura, the former professor of the University of Tokyo and currently Dean of the Faculty of Information Networking for Innovation and Design at Toyo University, Japan and Director of YRP Ubiquitous Networking Laboratory. The platform uses a cloud information system to assemble the large volume and all forms of Japanese culture information, which can be transmitted as open-data if the registrants prefer for their activity to be widely recognized. This approach can help various Japanese culture events to be known not only globally but domestically, as well as supporting the ultimate goal of the Agency.

Currently small to large organizations are actively registering their culture event information in the Culture Information Platform. Ubiquitous Computing Technology continues to assist the Agency to realize its goal and support any organizations which wish to register their culture events.
